Depuis 2017, à chaque élection, le chef de l’État embrasse sur le crâne un ami et militant de la majorité présidentielle sur le chemin du bureau de vote.
Dimanche 12 juin, Emmanuel Macron était au Touquet (Pas-de-Calais) pour le premier tour des élections législatives. C’est là, dans cette ville balnéaire du nord de la France, que le président et son épouse, Brigitte, qui y résident depuis 2001 quand ils ne sont pas à Paris, votent depuis de nombreuses années. À chaque élection, Emmanuel Macron respecte un rituel bien particulier : sur le chemin du bureau de vote, il embrasse sur le crâne un homme chauve… et ce, depuis 2017.
Cette habitude remonte au premier tour de la présidentielle, il y a cinq ans. Un bisou porte-bonheur ? Emmanuel Macron en a fait de même aux législatives qui ont suivi, puis aux européennes de 2019 et rebelote en avril, lors de la dernière présidentielle.
Un président superstitieux ?
La passion du président pour le football est bien connue. Il supporte d’ailleurs l’Olympique de Marseille, lui-même ayant joué au foot pendant sa scolarité. Ce geste, il a dû le voir plus d’une fois devant sa télévision lors des matchs de l’équipe de France. Laurent Blanc avait effectivement pris l’habitude d’embrasser le crâne dégarni du gardien de l’équipe Fabien Barthez, symbole de chance pour la Coupe du monde de 1998, remportée à domicile par la France. À l’époque, Emmanuel Macron est âgé de 21 ans, mais il semble ne pas avoir oublié le fameux geste.
Presque vingt-quatre ans plus tard, il le reproduit avec Grégoire Campion, un militant de la majorité présidentielle et ami de longue date de Brigitte Macron. Dès 2017, cet ami de la famille était présent à ses côtés au Touquet. Et sur le chemin du bureau de vote, lors du bain de foule, Emmanuel Macron l’avait embrassé sur le crâne. À l’image de son prédécesseur François Hollande, qui faisait sa promenade porte-bonheur, Emmanuel Macron semble avoir à cœur de respecter ce rituel à chaque scrutin.
