Sébastien Lecornu, le ministre français des Armées, a dénoncé vendredi ce qu’il a qualifié de “mesure d’intimidation” russe “pas acceptable” au-dessus de la mer Baltique. Un système russe de défense air-sol aurait pris pour cible un avion français qui effectuait un vol de surveillance.
“Cette action agressive russe n’est pas acceptable”. Sébastien Lecornu, le ministre français des Armées, a déploré sur X, vendredi 17 janvier, ce qu’il a qualifié de “mesure d’intimidation” russe contre un avion français au dessus de la mer Baltique.
L’Atlantique-2 de la Marine nationale, qui effectuait un vol de surveillance dans le cadre de l’opération Baltic Sentry de l’Otan en réaction aux dégradations de câbles sous-marins, dont est soupçonnée la Russie, a été victime d’une “tentative de brouillage” ainsi que d’une “désignation par un radar de conduite de tir”, selon une communication de l’armée française.
Sébastien Lecornu a précisé que l’Atlantique-2 a été illuminé par un radar de conduite de tir d’un système de défense sol-air S400 russe. Ces dispositifs font partie des systèmes russes d’armement les plus modernes.
Incident “assez grave”
Le ministre français des Armées a souligné que cette tentative d’intimidation n’allait pas empêcher “nos armées de continuer d’agir pour défendre la liberté de navigation dans les espaces aériens et maritimes internationaux”.
Ce type d’incident, “assez grave”, est “assez répandu” et “dépasse largement les frontières de l’Europe”, a estimé le général américain Christopher Cavoli, commandant des forces de l’Otan en Europe, lors d’un point presse jeudi à Bruxelles.
La Russie n’a pas réagi aux accusations du ministre français des Armées.
