More than 50 Ukrainian army generals and officers were reportedly killed when Russian Kalibr missiles targeted a command center in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said Sunday.
Russian Defense Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing that during the day of Sunday, June 19, high-precision “Kalibr” missiles launched from the sea hit the headquarters of Ukrainian forces near the village of Shirokaya Dacha in the Dnipropetrovsk region, while a working meeting of Ukrainian military officials was taking place there.
The spokesman explained that as a result of the strike, more than 50 generals and officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were killed, including representatives of the General Staff, leaders of the “Kakhovka” group, air assault forces and formations operating on the Nikolaev and Zaporozhye Axes.
NB: Information under verification.
The identity of at least one commander who died in Sunday’s Russian strike is known. This is Oleh Kutsyn (pictured), commander of the Carpathian Sich battalion. The information about this personality was confirmed by the Svoboda (Freedom) party.
Ukraine has not yet confirmed the loss, no other independent source has confirmed it.
