Macky Sall, président en exercice de l’Union africaine, a révélé que des échanges téléphoniques ont eu lieu entre lui, Paul Kagame et Félix Tshisekedi à la suite des tensions entre la RDC et le Rwanda.
Tensions relatives aux violences dans les territoires de Nyiragongo et de Rutshuru. Les autorités congolaises accusent l’armée rwandaise d’agression. Des effets militaires et deux soldats RDF ont été capturés et présentés par les FARDC.(à lire aussi: Nord-Kivu : Les 2 soldats rwandais capturés ont déclaré avoir reçu la mission d’attaquer le camp de Rumangabo).
« Je remercie les présidents Félix Tshisekedi et Paul Kagame pour nos entretiens téléphoniques d’hier et aujourd’hui dans la quête d’une solution pacifique du différend entre la RDC et le Rwanda », a dit le dirigeant sénégalais.
Macky Sall a confirmé également que la suite des discussions se fera dans le cadre de la Conférence internationale sur la région des Grands Lacs (CIRGL).
« J’encourage le président Lourenço, président de la CIGL à poursuivre ses efforts de médiation dans ce sens », a t-il ajouté.
Pour le contexte, le Rwanda et la RDC disent avoir saisi le Mécanisme Conjoint de Vérification Élargi (MCVE). Ce dispositif basée à Goma avait été lancé en Septembre 2012. Il comprend des experts militaires des États Membres de la Conférence internationale sur la région des Grands Lacs (CIRGL). Il surveille et mène des enquêtes sur les incidents de sécurité dans la Région des Grands Lacs.
La CIRGL comprend douze Etats membres, qui sont l’Angola, le Burundi, la République Centrafricaine, la République du Congo, la République Démocratique du Congo, le Kenya, l’Ouganda, le Rwanda, la République du Sud Soudan, le Soudan, la Tanzanie et la Zambie.
Sa création résulte de la reconnaissance de la dimension régionale des conflits et de la nécessité d’un effort concerté en vue de promouvoir la paix et le développement durable dans la région.
