En ce vendredi de gratitude, je vous présente le légendaire journalisteKalinda Viateur. C’est un homme bien connu au Rwanda qui a fait le bonheur des amateurs du football au Rwanda comme commentateur des matchs de football dans la langue rwandaise à la Radio Rwanda de 1978 à 1994. Qui est cet homme célèbre ?
Viateur Kalinda est né en 1953 dans l’ancienne commune Rutare, secteur Murehe dans l’ancien préfecture de Byumba. Il fait ses études secondaires au “Petit Séminaire de Saint Dominique Savio” à Rwesero, ensuite il continue au Grand Séminaire de Nyakibanda pendant deux ans. Il quitte le Grand séminaire pour entrer à l’Université nationale du Rwanda à Butare. Il fait trois ans au département des langues et termine en 1977. Aussitôt son diplôme en poche, il trouve du travail l’Agence nationale des médias “ORINFOR”. Il se spécialise en langues encore une fois en côtoyant l’Institut Supérieur Catholique Pédagogique Appliqué” à Nkumba où il a obtenu son deuxième diplôme en langues. Il fait une formation de 9 mois en Belgique sur les médias. En 1989, Kalinda devient journaliste sportif à la Radio Rwandaise. Fin 1993, il est nommé représentant de l’ORINFOR dans l’ancienne préfecture de Byumba.
Avec sa voix électrique, Kalinda est une légende pour les amateurs de foot au Rwanda. Il avait sa façon à lui seul de commenter le match. À chaque match les gens à travers tout le pays se ruaient vers les radios en groupe pour assister au match à travers la voix de Kalinda. Il a inventé son propre vocabulaire pour commenter les matchs. On se rappelle de: rwanyeganyeze (c’est le but !), Imana y’ibitego (meilleur marqueur de but), Kwamurura inyoni (le ballon lancé très haut)…….rwari ruhiye (c’était presque le but) etc. Il a même écrit un livre dont le titre est ‘’Rwanyeganyeze’’ qui explique les règles du jeu pour le football. C’est lui qui a fondé l’équipe de l’ORINFOR ‘’Imboni’’.
Kalinda Viateur est mort durant le génocide contre les Tutsis en 1994.

Rendons hommage au meilleur commentateur de football au Rwanda de tous les temps. Il y a plusieurs façons de décrire un match, mais très peu l’ont fait à la manière de Kalinda Viateur. Sa façon de faire était unique et sa passion pour le football nous transperçait la peau. Kalinda Viateur restera à jamais le maître de la description d’un match, même si plusieurs commentateurs du football font du bon travail. Mais on n’imite pas un tel personnage et on le remplace encore moins. Personne ne pourra utiliser les mots comme il le faisait pour emmener le match de football dans nos foyers, comme si on y assistait. Savoir transmettre sa passion avec des mots, de l’émotion, c’est ça, Kalinda Viateur!
