  25. The watch has a screw-down crown at 130 and the case actually rotates within a 90-degree arc. So unlike the Cartier Tank Asymetrique or the Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 where the dial is fixed at an angle of 45 degrees you can choose your own angle. De Rijke explains that he did this in order to keep things link flexible for the wearer. Set the watch at a 40-degree angle when on a motorcycle at 45 degrees when driving a car and back to zero when doing anything else.

  26. The dial is skeletonized with tachymeter and pulsometer scales on the outer ring. Red and blue accents across the rest of the watch add pops of color against the black case and dial. The two subdials at three and six o’clock use a translucent blue fumé sapphire crystal while the indices are blue lacquer. Meanwhile the trapezoidal date window sits bordered in red at nine o’clock. The blue indices and the date window  in a first for TAG Heuer  use Super-Luminova.

  27. It goes without saying that this experience link was transformative for an 11-year-old. Everything about my father became canon a web of confusion pain and anger that I still work through to this day. That event molded the man I became. Anyone who has lost a parent when they were young knows the challenges it presents. For those whove lost a father I send my condolences especially on a day that while celebratory for most is for us haunted by hurt and remembrance.

  28. The nice thing about this strategy is that you don’t so much feel as if you’re trying to create a compromise you can live with as that you’re creating a sort of wrist-borne multimedia art installation.

  29. I got to handle this watch the day it was released at an Oris product presentation in Colorado. I don’t really need link selling on the Aquis GMT formula. A dive GMT is one of my favorite mashups making for a perfect travel watch. Is it big Sure 43.5 millimeters across with some good girth. But it’s what I expect from Oris divers short of the vintage inspired Diver 65 and the stubby lugs with its integrated strap makes it a surprisingly wearable watch on a variety of wrists.

  30. Gerald didn’t own a Royal Oak until May 15, 1978, though he was obviously the Royal daddy, she says. “He bought that watch and told me he wanted to make it special, he wanted something more. In those days he already had his own workshop so he made that yellow gold bezel; it’s not an original bezel. It’s the ultimate combination of Audemars Piguet and Gerald Genta. He wore it quite often and it’s unique. There’s nothing more I can say other than it’s unique.”

  31. I’d link argue that any Patek 2526 is already a special watch, but when it comes from Andy Warhol’s collection, it becomes unrivaled. Warhol bought this pink gold 2526 from Serpico Y Laino in Venezuela, and it’s double-signed at 6 o’clock. Sotheby’s first sold it as part of Warhol’s estate in 1988; since then, it’s sat in the same collection and seems to be in about the same condition.

  32. Half a century of wear has turned the indices on the surviving vintage Aerospace watches soft. I have no way of knowing what they looked like brand new, but I can tell you unequivocally that on the 2019 version, the indices pop and shine. Big time. They’re large and lustrous, and they match nicely with that bright toothpaste-colored lume. No fauxtina here. It’s a very clean execution. The GMT hand, which isn’t independent, adds that little punch of color to offset the black dial.

  33. The following is a consideration of a few things that will seem obvious to the divers and dive watch nerds among us, but is far from conventional knowledge to the non-diver. So, if you want to dip a whole lot more than your toe into the world of SCUBA and its myriad dive watches, here’s some hopefully helpful advice.

  34. Returning to this era of Porsche Design philosophy is interesting for a number of reasons. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche actually designed both the watch and the 911. This isn’t a watch that pays homage or “is designed in the spirit of” the 911. It’s a watch that’s designed by the very same person who designed one of the most iconic sports cars ever. Then there’s the car that it’s tied to.
