I’ll admit it’s something I may have link uttered during my first year or so of learning the watch-writing ropes. But I’ve come to recognize the tourbillon as perhaps watchmaking’s most beguiling anachronism. And to dismiss it with a heavy hand as an oligarch’s personal folly discredits the many mechanically intriguing intellectually stimulating and most importantly emotionally resonant developments happening in the genre these days.
One of my absolute favorite things about living in New York is being able to attend live comedy shows pretty much whenever I want. Living not far from the storied Dangerfield’s Comedy Club I’ve taken full advantage. The past couple of months have obviously put the kibosh on that but it hasn’t stopped me from enjoying any number of streaming comedy specials on networks from Netflix to HBO to Amazon.
Fitbit appears to be a good fit for Google for two reasons one hardware one software. It fills a gap in Google’s product portfolio by giving it an instant foothold in the smartwatch market Fitbit is the world’s second largest smartwatch producer after Apple.
While there are several different ways you could set up the three zones I think I would have the main hands set to local time home time on the red hand so that I had a quick view of AMPM and then UTC on the bezel if I needed to quickly reference the +- of another timezone or simply UTC while traveling.
Pretty darn cool huh There really is something that feels magical about the Révélation and with diamonds the effect is even more next-level. This is a good reminder that no matter how seriously we might take watches they can still be sources of surprise and delight. And when it comes to that kind of watchmaking and that kind of design more generally nobody does it better than Cartier.
They opened up their showrooms and gave us almost like a playground to allow the designers to explore link their brand and their lifestyle and their ethos. And then we started thinking how these could fit into one of our vehicles. We also like to get inspired by different trends.

To date, I’ve come across roughly six other watches presented to Kodak employees either upon their retirement or after having completed however many decades of service with the company. Understandably, the more desirable of the bunch were the former, being modest Rolex Oysters executed in either solid gold or two-tone cases. The latter have always been Tudors, but attractive references at that, suggesting a logically hierarchical nature to the photographic firm’s watch allotment system.
There’s a real premium feel to the build of the case, though, link from the gold surface, in a combination of brushed and polished finishes, and the black mid-case. Usually, visual intrigue is confined to dial design, but not with a Hublot.

It’s usually bad form to quote press releases but let me provide just this tidbit from Franck Muller’s 2024 releases so you get a feel for the vibe that is Franck Muller – totally over-the-top, with lots of diamonds:

What’s even cooler about this Bauhaus-inspired bunny link watch is that many of the components are made in-house (in Dordrecht, The Netherlands) and aside from the crown tube and glass, which are made by Yuki Precision in Japan, the rest of the parts are made in close collaboration with Dutch suppliers. The baseplate and the caseback are actually from Utrecht, Miffy’s birthplace!
I enjoyed reading this. It’s clear and well-written.
But what does that mean? What makes a watch “Swiss Made?” Well, according to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry, a watch is Swiss Made if at least 60% of the total production costs originate in Switzerland. And that’s really it.
Technically this is absolutely correct, however high depth-rated dive watches for most of their buyers are bought as exercises in aspirational adventurism rather than out of any real need for their suite of features. In a watch like the Hydrosphere, link which makes no bones about its role in fulfilling those aspirations, it seems, like the retrograde-friendly bezel, more a matter of taking things to their logical conclusion, rather than trying to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes.
