David Himbara, professeur d’université au Canada et ancien conseilleur du président Kagame, dit que ce sont des mensonges. Il dit :

De même, le propre journal de Kagame, The New Times, a annoncé que « Kagame est titulaire d’un diplôme en gestion professionnelle et en études commerciales de l’Open University of London, royaume-uni ».
Pendant ce temps, l’Encyclopaedia Britannica dit que Kagame « a étudié à l’Université Makelele à Kampala » en Ouganda.
