L’avion d’Air Mauritius, en provenance de Madagascar, a atterri à l’aéroport international Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam le 1er janvier.
Les agents de l’aéroport ont fait cette découverte lorsqu’ils ont contrôlé l’avion pour un contrôle douanier de routine.
Ils ont remarqué qu’il y avait du papier toilette taché de sang et ont transporté d’urgence le bébé dans un hôpital public pour le soigner.
La police de l’aéroport a également interrogé les passagers.
La femme soupçonnée d’être la mère de l’enfant, qui avait d’abord nié que le garçon était le sien, a été soumise à un examen médical qui a confirmé qu’elle venait d’accoucher.
Elle a été placée sous surveillance policière à l’hôpital. Elle et le bébé se porteraient bien.
La femme malgache, qui est arrivée à Maurice avec un permis de travail de deux ans, sera interrogée après sa sortie de l’hôpital et accusée d’avoir abandonné un nouveau-né.
