Quelque centaines de personnes se sont rassemblées à Paris mardi pour dénoncer ce que l’Observatoire des violences sexistes et sexuelles en politique nomme un “gouvernement de la honte” en raison de la présence de Damien Abad, accusé de viol.
L’Observatoire des violences sexistes et sexuelles en politique accentue la pression sur l’ancien président du groupe Les Républicains (LR) à l’Assemblée nationale. L’association q organisé un rassemblement à Paris, mardi 24 mai, de quelques centaines de personnes pour dénoncer un “gouvernement de la honte”, après la nomination de Damien Abad, accusé de viol et de violences sexuelles par deux femmes, ce qu’il conteste.
Plusieurs militantes de gauche étaient présentes, dont l’écologiste Sandrine Rousseau. “Les femmes ne sont plus dans une situation où elles se taisent. L’ère de l’impunité est terminée sur les violences sexuelles”, a-t-elle lancé devant quelque 300 personnes place Saint Augustin, dans le 8e arrondissement.
Dans l’assistance, des pancartes et des chants pour appeler à la démission de Damien Abad ou du ministre de l’Intérieur Gérald Darmanin, visé par une plainte pour viol, classée sans suite dans un premier temps, puis relancée et pour laquelle le parquet a requis un non-lieu début 2022.
“Au moment où le gouvernement vient de refaire de la lutte contre les violences faites aux femmes sa ‘grande cause du quinquennat’ et qu’Olivia Grégoire, porte-parole du gouvernement, encourage la libération de la parole, il est inconcevable de garder au gouvernement un homme accusé de viol”, a déclaré Mathilde Viot, une des cofondatrices de cette association, qui a par ailleurs tweeté “pas de quartier pour les sexistes Darmanin, Dupond-Moretti, Guerini”.
“On ne demande pas à Élisabeth Borne de faire un travail de juge, on lui demande de décider si Damien Abad est en mesure d’assumer ses fonctions. En l’état, nous pensons qu’il ne peut pas remplir sa mission de ministre des Solidarités”, a-t-elle estimé auprès de l’AFP.
L’Observatoire des violences sexistes et sexuelles en politique, qui a transmis les témoignages des accusatrices de Damien Abad à des cadres de La République en marche et LR, se veut “le relais de la question des violences sexuelles en politique”.
“On réalise un travail qui n’est pas le nôtre, qui devrait être le rôle de l’État”
Fiona Texeire, autre fondatrice aux côtés de l’élue Europe Écologie-Les Verts parisienne Alice Coffin, de Madeline Da Silva et de Hélène Goutany, décrit un rôle de mise en avant “d’articles qui n’ont pas reçu d’écho au niveau national” et de compilation “de ce qui existait déjà de façon publique pour montrer ce qui touche absolument toutes les familles politiques et tous les échelons au pouvoir”.
L’Observatoire plaide pour la mise à l’écart de la politique des hommes mis en cause pour violences sexuelles et sexistes et demande également la création d’une structure d’État qui prenne en charge ce travail de veille.
Le nouveau ministre des Solidarités Damien Abad s’est dit “innocent” lundi des accusations de viols portées à son encontre par deux femmes et a indiqué ne pas envisager de démissionner. Deux plaintes ont déjà été classées sans suite mais la justice analyse un nouveau signalement
“On réalise un travail qui n’est pas le nôtre, qui devrait être le rôle de l’État. La Haute autorité de la transparence de la vie publique n’a pas un rôle de contrôle des violences sexuelles, mais devrait pouvoir contrôler cette question”, abonde Mathilde Viot.
De son côté, Fiona Texeire craint que l’association ne puisse “faire face à cette visibilité nouvelle et gérer la réception d’une grosse quantité de témoignages“, alors que les membres fondatrices de l’Observatoire ne sont pas formées pour accompagner des femmes victimes de violences sexuelles et sexistes.
