Par exemple, Psaume 146:6 présente Dieu comme « celui qui a fait le ciel et la terre, la mer, et tout ce qui s’y trouve ».
Quand les dinosaures ont-ils vécu ?
La Bible indique que les animaux marins et terrestres ont été créés durant les cinquième et sixième jours, ou périodes, de création * (Genèse 1:20-25, 31). Par conséquent, le récit biblique permet de penser que l’apparition et l’existence des dinosaures se sont étalées sur une très longue période.
Béhémoth et Léviathan étaient-ils des dinosaures ?
Non. Bien qu’on ne puisse pas identifier avec certitude ces animaux mentionnés dans le livre de Job, on identifie généralement Béhémoth à l’hippopotame et Léviathan au crocodile. Cela s’accorde avec les descriptions qu’en fait la Bible (Job 40:15-23 ; 41:1, 14-17, 31). Quoi qu’il en soit, « Béhémoth » et « Léviathan » ne peuvent pas désigner des dinosaures. En effet, Dieu a demandé à Job d’observer ces animaux. Or à l’époque de Job, les dinosaures avaient disparu depuis bien longtemps (Job 40:16 ; 41:8).
Qu’est-il arrivé aux dinosaures ?
La Bible ne donne aucun indice sur la disparition des dinosaures. Mais elle déclare que toutes choses ont été créées par la ‘volonté de Dieu’ : Dieu a donc créé les dinosaures dans un but précis (Révélation 4:11). Ce but atteint, il a permis que les dinosaures disparaissent.
^ Les fossiles prouvent que les dinosaures ont existé. En fait, ils attestent que pendant un temps, les dinosaures étaient très nombreux et présentaient une grande diversité de genres et de tailles.
^ Dans la Bible, le mot « jour » peut désigner des périodes de plusieurs milliers d’années (Genèse 1:31 ; 2:1-4 ; Hébreux 4:4, 11).
