D’où cette sensibilisation que nous mener pour non seulement alerter sur les dangers liés à cette pratique mais pas que ça. Au-delà de cette campagne ‘S’aimer au naturel’ pour nous c’est aussi une affirmation, une fierté de notre identité”, précise-t-il.
La campagne rassemble des femmes engagées dans la promotion de la beauté naturelle et aussi des artistes pour porter encore plus haut le message. A l’instar de la chanteuse Queen Etémé du cameroun.
“Le message du retour au naturel me touche particulièrement parce que nous voyons que le fléau de la dépigmentation continue de gagner l’Afrique. Nous voyons des mamans qui mettent des produits éclaircissants même sur la peau des enfants et pour cela nous avons voulu tirer la sonnette d’alarme sur les dangers qu’entrainent ces crèmes sur la santé de nos mamans, de nos filles, de nos enfants”, dit-elle.
En effet la dépigmentation est un fléau qui a des conséquences dramatiques sur la santé, selon les experts.
“La dépigmentation est un problème de santé publique. Nous pouvons entretenir notre peau et la garder naturelle, belle sans la dépigmenter. Les pratiques que nous utilisons pour nous dépigmenter ont des effets néfastes sur la peau, qui peuvent être déjà visibles dès le début, au bout de quelques mois ou des années après. Mais ce que nous ignorons c’est que ces pratiques ont des effets sur la santé en général. Nous pouvons avoir une hypertension artérielle, un diabète, ou même un cancer de la peau suite à l’utilisation de ces produits cosmétiques dépigmentant sur le long terme”, alerte Dr Dovi Tevi Kokoè, dermatologue.
Pour cette spécialiste de la peau qui prend part activement aussi à la campagne, le plus important est de cultiver l’amour de soi, en s’acceptant tel qu’on est.
Les deux premières éditions de la campagne se sont déroulées sur les réseaux sociaux. La troisième édition est prévue en mars 2023
