It surprised me how versatile the green made the link watch and it surprised me even more so how removing one particular color from the dial made the watch look a little less sporty and bit more grown-up. Nonetheless I ended up enjoying the the watch so much I decided it was worthy of its own video so here we are. I’ve been looking for a great Universal Genève to feature here since Bring A Loupe’s revival but there haven’t been many for sale! Miyota, of course, isn’t the only Japanese watch manufacturer to recently release a new GMT movement. It was link a little over a month ago that we were all abuzz over the debut of the Seiko 5 Sports GMT series, powered by the new self-winding 4R34 movement. It appears that Seiko will in fact be offering its new low-cost, travel-time caliber to third-party buyers under the “NH35” trade name, but it, unfortunately, operates solely in “caller” GMT fashion.
The Aquaracer Night Diver, with its full lume dial, is a new twist on a 1980s classic that brought nighttime visibility to the fore. Contrasted with a DLC-coated steel case and black ceramic bezel, the Night Diver’s signature feature is its link white opaline dial. When the lights go out, the grooved dial lights up a bright green thanks to all that Super-LumiNova. The applied markers stand out against the lume background, as do the gold-plated black luminescent hands.
