Des milliers de véhicules ont convergé samedi vers Paris pour participer à plusieurs manifestations contre le passe sanitaire. Des incidents ont éclaté, mais le blocage de la capitale, souhaité par certains manifestants, n’a pas eu lieu.
Mieux valait éviter de circuler en camping-car samedi 12 février dans les rues de Paris. Des consignes de “fermeté” avaient été transmises aux 7 200 forces de l’ordre déployées pour empêcher le blocage de la capitale par des “convois de la liberté”, mouvement hétéroclite d’opposants à Emmanuel Macron et au passe sanitaire, inspiré par celui des camionneurs canadiens qui paralyse actuellement la capitale canadienne Ottawa.
Voitures, camping-cars et camionnettes sont partis de Nice, Lille, Strasbourg, Vimy (Pas-de-Calais) ou Châteaubourg (Ille-et-Vilaine), circulant pendant deux ou trois jours à vitesse réduite sur des routes secondaires pour rejoindre Paris.
Toute la matinée gendarmes et policiers ont donc filtré les accès de la capitale. Porte Maillot, plusieurs dizaines de membres des forces de l’ordre avaient pour mission d’arrêter systématiquement les caravanes pour procéder à des vérifications.
Venus de Perpignan, Sarah* et un ami assurent auprès de France 24 être montés à Paris “simplement pour voir de la famille. Nous n’avons rien à voir avec le convoi de la liberté”, expliquent les occupants du camping-car dont le tableau de bord est orné d’une affiche rendant hommage au professeur Luc Montagnier, figure des sphères complotistes et anti-vaccins [pour ses propos controversés sur le Covid-19] et récemment décédé.
“Reprenons les choses : vous êtes venus assister à une manifestation interdite”, assène un policier visiblement peu convaincu par les explications confuses de la jeune femme pour justifier de sa présence dans la capitale.
“Globalement, les contrôles se passent très bien”, glisse un agent. “Certains reconnaissent d’ailleurs qu’ils sont venus pour participer à la manifestation”.
Verbalisations en cascade
Un peu plus tôt dans la journée, les forces de l’ordre avaient commencé à effectuer des centaines de contrôles, notamment Porte de Saint-Cloud, où un convoi de 450 véhicules avait été intercepté, perturbant la circulation sur le boulevard périphérique sans toutefois la bloquer.
La préfecture de Police de Paris faisait état en fin de matinée de 283 verbalisations pour participation à une manifestation interdite sur la voie publique. Une infraction punie depuis 2019 d’une amende de 135 euros.
L’interdiction de rassemblement des convois avait été maintenue vendredi soir par le tribunal administratif de Paris, qui a rejeté deux recours.
Sur les réseaux sociaux, des appels à “planquer les drapeaux” et “à trouver un alibi pour entrer dans Paris” étaient partagés pour déjouer les contrôles dans un jeu du chat et de la souris qui a duré jusqu’en début d’après-midi.
Tentative de blocage sur les Champs-Élysées
Malgré la forte présence policière, plus d’une centaine de véhicules ont finalement bravé l’interdiction de rejoindre l’avenue des Champs-Élysées, où des véhicules blindés de la gendarmerie étaient restés stationnés au pied de l’Arc de triomphe, une première depuis les manifestations des “Gilets jaunes”.
Des tensions ont alors éclaté entre forces de l’ordre et manifestants tentant de bloquer la circulation aux cris de “Liberté !”. Des gaz lacrymogène ont été tirés pour disperser la foule tandis que des véhicules étaient mis à la fourrière.
Dans une vidéo largement partagée sur twitter, un gendarme était filmé en train de briser la vitre d’un automobiliste qui refusait d’obtempérer après avoir été invité à circuler à plusieurs reprises.
“Je suis là pour défendre nos libertés. On nous avait fait croire qu’on pouvait échanger notre liberté contre plus de sécurité, je ne veux pas de ce monde-là pour mes enfants, je veux juste que les gens aient le choix”, explique François, un manifestant interrogé par l’AFP.

À deux mois de l’élection présidentielle, les manifestants voulaient une nouvelle fois exiger le retrait du passe vaccinal et défendre des revendications sur le pouvoir d’achat ou le coût de l’énergie.
Le gouvernement a affirmé envisager pour fin mars ou début avril la levée du passe vaccinal et compte supprimer dès le 28 février l’obligation de porter un masque dans les lieux où le passe est exigé.
Certains participants espèrent désormais grossir les rangs des cortèges contre le passe vaccinal organisés chaque semaine.
Vendredi, Rémi Monde, l’un des initiateurs du mouvement a lancé des appels à de nouveau occuper des ronds-points. “Je lance un appel à rejoindre toutes les grandes villes pour les occuper, multipliez les points de rassemblements”.
D’autres comptent ensuite rejoindre Bruxelles pour une “convergence européenne” prévue lundi 14 février. Les autorités belges ont d’ores et déjà interdit l’accès de la capitale où des moyens exceptionnels vont être déployés comme des tracteurs anti-barricades, des véhicules blindés et des canons à eau.
