Le gouvernement américain octroie cinq cents millions de dollars américains au gouvernement congolais pour soutenir les activités humanitaires au Nord-Kivu.
L’annonce de ce financement a été faite, lundi 5 décembre, par le directeur de l’agence américaine pour le développement international (USAID), en RDC, John Dunlop à Goma en présence du gouverneur de province, le lieutenant-général Constant Ndima Kogbwa.
D’après lui, cet appui financier sera réparti à travers cinq axes prioritaires en faveur des déplacés de guerre du territoire de Rutshuru et dont la majeure partie est actuellement concentrée dans le territoire de Nyiragongo.
Il s’agit entre autres des volets alimentation, éducation, eau et santé.
Cet appui du gouvernement américain est un premier décaissement d’un financement global évalué à deux milliards de dollars américains, a affirmé le directeur de l’USAID.
